Dr David JankelowDr. David Jankelow is a distinguished clinical cardiologist at Netcare Linksfield Clinic, where he has practiced since 2000. He served as the President of the South African Heart Association (SA Heart®) from 2018 to 2020 and was honored with honorary life membership in 2021.Dr. Jankelow graduated with an MBBCh from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1984. He then completed his registrarship in Internal Medicine at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital, University of the Witwatersrand between 1987 and 1992, earning his Fellowship with the College of Medicine of South Africa in 1992. From 1992 to 2000, he then served as a consultant cardiologist at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital until 2000. In recognition of his expertise, Dr. Jankelow was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) in 2014 and as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2019. His passion for disruptive technologies in medicine, particularly in cardiology, emerged during his chairmanship of the 2017 SA Heart® Congress, themed "Fundamentals to Innovation." Since then, Dr. Jankelow has been invited many times to lecture on artificial intelligence in healthcare and cardiovascular medicine. Outside of his medical career, Dr. Jankelow is an exercise enthusiast, particularly in CrossFit. He describes himself as an "obedient husband" and a proud father of three: two sons, aged 29 and 27, who like to bully him, and a daughter who affectionately thinks he is "cute." LoL!
