On behalf of the South African Nephrology Society (SANS) and the South African Renal Care Society (RCCSA), we are pleased to invite you to the South African Renal Congress 2024, to be held from 18 - 20 October at the Indaba Hotel & Conference Centre.Kidney disease is a silent epidemic in South Africa and contributes significantly to the burden of non-communicable diseases in the country. The Fourth Industrial Revolution provides an exciting opportunity to expand access to quality kidney disease care in our resource-constrained setting; reflecting this, the theme for the congress will be "The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Nephrology" focusing on the application of disruptive technology in improving kidney patient care.The membership of SANS and RCCSA comprises practising and non-practising nephrologists, physicians interested in nephrology, nephrology subspecialty trainees, and dialysis nurses and technologists. There are currently 157 doctors on the SANS database and over 1100 members of the RCCSA, and we expect over 500 delegates to attend this congress. The purpose of this meeting is to keep members abreast of the latest developments in nephrology, dialysis, and transplantation, and to share local and international research in these areas.
