SAAFoST Northern Branch: Re-think water - an alternative approach to the water dilemma in food production |
Thursday, 11 April 2019 |
Dear Northern Branch members,
We have heard many messages about the problems we will face in the future regarding water. Some of our colleagues at the coastal regions have already experienced problems regarding the scarcity of our most treasured and needed resource. Not only essential for our personal and home use, but of necessity in the food industry and many others - water will remain a hot topic. It means we, as food scientists, need to learn about all aspects of this very important asset. We will need to find solutions for the future on so many levels - including responsible usage, water quality at farm and factory, availability and many more. Come, listen and be inspired!
Regards,
Ingrid Woodrow
